RETAINING WALLS

A slab foundation is a flat concrete structure. They are designed to have a grade beam around the perimeter of the slab and, depending on the age and size of the home, it might also have grade beams throughout the interior of the slab in a checkerboard type layout.

Concrete slab foundations are generally poured directly onto the ground and do not have crawl spaces under them.

Let's Get
Started

WHAT IS A RETAINING WALL?

Retaining walls are structures designed to contain soil. Their purpose is to create two different soil levels where there is normally just one slope. When you create a retaining wall, you flatten out the land and remove the existing slope. This will help prevent water runoff, which also increases soil erosion.

Hiring our team of professionals will ensure it’s done with the correct permits and, most importantly, we’ll make sure there are no buried lines or pipes where you want us to dig.

What makes a retaining wall last is the materials the wall is packed with. You can trust our dirt nerds to install retaining walls that will last for years to come with sand or soils that work with the dirt present to create healthy irrigation. Who doesn’t love a little peace of mind?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Not necessarily. Some cracks, like stair-step cracks on the outside of windows, can be more indicative of foundation problems. Others are just cracks caused by the normal settling of your property. If you’re unsure, it’s best to call an expert for some peace of mind.

Maybe! If your home is a tenth of an inch out of level, you don’t need to pull out your wallet just yet. But if your home’s foundation has significant damage from the soil heaving or contracting, it’s best to tackle the problem before it snowballs into a bigger one. The last thing you want is to have to replace windows, doors, counters, etc. because you didn’t have the right foundation solutions.
